About SUF Uppsala

The Swedish Anarcho-Syndicalist Youth Federation in Uppsala is a youth organization working outside of political parties and parliament. All of our members decide for themselves which issues to work with and in what way this is to be done, without having to ask any parent organization for persmission or approval. We work collectivly, in groups and networks, to improve our own every-day lives as well as society as a whole. If you yourself are engaged and motivated to work with a specific issue, there is a great chance that our organization can provide people with similar interests, and the resources to put your ideas into practice. Of course, it is just as good to join in one or many of our ongoing projects or campaigns.

Contrary to the often stiff and edgeless youth organizations bound to a party, we try to participate actively in the anti-capitalistic struggles that are already taking place at schools, working places, neighborhoods and on the streets. As a local group we work with meetings, actions, demonstrations, studies and distrubution of information.

We participate in the trading unions blockades and strikes, often alongside a Local Co-organization of the trading union Central Organization of the Workers of Sweden. If you would get any trouble at your school or working place you can count on having people covering your back and helping out with anything from law to arranging big actions, if needed.

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a member, do not doubt to contact us.

About the SUF Federation

SUF Uppsala is part of a country-covering federation called The Swedish Anarcho-Syndicalist Youth Federation. All connected organizations approve of our Declaration of Principles (Swedish), and our regulations. The benefits from having an organization with nationwide coverage is that the things we do can get a much bigger impact. Through good communications we can co-operate on a national plane. This goes for single actions against a specific target, as well as national campaigns.

The federation has a public magazine called Direkt Aktion (direct action), that can be purchased directly from your local organization or from one of our retailers. Read more (Swedish)
